Admission to the two year M.Tech programme is done strictly based on the PGAT merit rank and choice of candidate with respect to Institution and course given during the counseling. As to eligibility for the admission an aspirant needs to have a rank either in Post Graduate (PGAT) or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) of the concerned academic year.

GATE qualified and Non-GATE candidates with Bachelors degree or equivalent in the relevant field with atleast 50% marks or 5.75 CGPA (45% marks or 5.25 CGPA for SC and ST Candidates) in the respective engineering branches or in MCA/M.Sc. Computer Science (for M.Tech in Computer Science /IT branch only) /M. Sc. Electronics (for M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering only) with atleast 50% marks or 5.75 CGPA(45% marks or 5.25 CGPA for SC and ST Candidates)
